సూర్యుడు డ్యూటీ ఎక్కడానికి కొన్ని గంటల ముందే.. చిత్రదుర్గం వచ్చి 500 కేజీల కాయగూరల్ని రోడ్డువారనే   చకచకా అమ్మేసిందా అమ్మాయి! కాయగూరల వ్యాపారంలో కోటిరూపాయల టర్నోవర్‌ సాధిస్తున్నా.. వారానికో రెండు రోజులు ఇలా రోడ్డువారన అమ్మాల్సిన అవసరం ఏంటి? ఈ పనికోసమే ఐబీఎం లాంటి గొప్ప సంస్థలో ఉద్యోగాన్ని వదులుకోవాలా? అది తెలుసుకోవాలంటే 26 ఏళ్ల తెలుగమ్మాయి రోజారెడ్డి సాధించిన విజయం ఏంటో చదవండి...

ఏడాది క్రితం. ఇదే చిత్రదుర్గంలో.. వేకువజామున 4 గంటలకు కూరగాయలమ్మడానికి వెళ్లా. మార్కెటింగ్‌ తెలియదు. అసలు వ్యవసాయం గురించే పెద్దగా తెలియదు. దళారులు... రూపాయికీ, పావలాకీ పంటను అడుగుతుంటే ఆ ధరకి అమ్మలేక ఏడుపొచ్చింది. లక్షల రూపాయల పంటని పొలంలోనే వదిలేశా. ఆ రోజు నా చుట్టూ ఉన్న నైరాశ్యం ఇప్పటికీ ఉంటే కష్టాల సాగులో ఉన్న సగటు రైతు కథకీ నా కథకి తేడా ఉండేది కాదు. కానీ నేనలా జరగనివ్వలేదు.

అమ్మ సుశీలది అనంతపురం జిల్లా కల్యాణదుర్గం. నాన్న లక్ష్మణమూర్తిది కర్ణాటకలోని దొన్నెహళ్లి. మాది రైతు కుటుంబం. నన్ను, అన్నయ్య శ్రీకాంత్‌ను బాగా చదివించాలనుకున్నా.. సాగులో ఎప్పుడూ నష్టాలే. దాంతో అన్నయ్య చదువుని మధ్యలోనే వదిలేసినా.. నన్ను పట్టుదలగా చదివించారు. కుటుంబానికి అండగా ఉండాలని బాగా చదివా. ఐబీఎం-బెంగళూరులో మంచి జీతానికి ఉద్యోగం వచ్చింది. హమ్మయ్య అనుకున్నా.. వీలైనప్పుడల్లా ఇంటికి డబ్బుపంపేదాన్ని.

నా మాటతో భూకంపం

కొవిడ్‌ సమయంలో ఇంటి నుంచే పని కదా... అప్పుడు అమ్మానాన్నల కష్టాన్ని దగ్గర్నుంచి చూశా. చదువు, ఉద్యోగంతో అంతకు ముందెప్పుడూ పెద్దగా ఆసక్తి చూపించలేకపోయా. ఏటా వ్యవసాయం కోసం చేసిన అప్పు... వడ్డీతో కలిసి కొండలా మారిందని తెలిసింది. ఆ అప్పులు తీర్చే దారి లేక కుంగిపోయారు. ఇవన్నీ చూడలేక ‘నేనూ వ్యవసాయంలోకి వస్తా’ అన్నప్పుడు ఇంట్లో పెద్ద భూకంపమే వచ్చింది. అమ్మ ఒక్కతే నా వెన్నుతట్టింది.

అసలు సాగులో నష్టాలెందుకొస్తున్నాయో లోతుగా తెలుసుకోవాలనుకున్నా. నాకు కనిపించిన ప్రధాన కారణం.. రసాయన ఎరువులు. ఆ ఖర్చుని అదుపుచేసేందుకు సుభాష్‌ పాలేకర్‌ పుస్తకాలు చదివా. సేంద్రియ నిపుణుల సలహాలు తీసుకున్నా. ధార్వాడ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో సేంద్రియ ఎరువుల తయారీ నేర్చుకున్నా. ఆన్‌లైన్‌లో సమాచారాన్ని సేకరించా. 3 నెలలు అహోరాత్రాలూ ఇదే పని.

పలుగూ పారా పట్టి...

ఆ తర్వాత నాదగ్గరున్నదీ, స్నేహితులనడిగి మొత్తం రూ.4 లక్షల పెట్టుబడితో మాకున్న పదెకరాల బీడు భూమిలో సాగు మొదలుపెట్టా. అందరికీ రోజూ అవసరమయ్యే కూరగాయలను పండించాలనుకున్నా. వర్షపునీటి నిల్వ కోసం మూడు చెరువులు తవ్వించా, 3 బోర్లూ వేయించా. బిందు సేద్యం పద్ధతిని అనుసరించా. సేంద్రియ ఎరువులను నేనే తయారు చేసుకున్నా. మహారాష్ట్ర నుంచి టొమాటొ, వంకాయ, బీన్స్‌, క్యారెట్‌ వంటి మొత్తం రకాల 40 విత్తనాలని సేకరించి వేశా. పంట బాగా వచ్చింది. కానీ అమ్మడం తెలియలేదు. దళారులు కేజీ రూ.2కే అడుగుతుంటే బాధనిపించింది. వాటిని పొలంలోనే వదిలేశా. అలా దాదాపు రూ.2లక్షల పంట నేలపాలైంది. మధ్యలో ఈ దళారులెందుకు? ప్రజలకు నేరుగా పంటను చేర్చాలనుకున్నా. చుట్టుపక్కల 40 ఊళ్లలో గడగడపకూ తిరిగా. నేను పండించిన సేంద్రియ కూరగాయల్ని పరిచయం చేశా. వాటిని ఎందుకు తినాలో చెప్పా. చాలామందికి ఉచితంగా అందించా. ఒక సొసైటీ సాయంతో మంగళూరు వంటి నగరానికి మా కూరగాయలు చేరవేశా. సేంద్రియ రుచికి అలవాటు పడ్డ వాళ్లంతా ఆర్డర్లు ఇవ్వడం మొదలుపెట్టారు. ‘నిసర్గా నేటివ్‌ ఫార్మ్స్‌’ పేరుతో వెబ్‌సైట్‌ ప్రారంభించాం. మంగళూరు, ఉడిపి, మణిపాల్‌ల నుంచి ఆర్డర్లు పెరిగాయి. మరో పది ఎకరాలు తీసుకొని మరిన్ని రకాల కూరగాయలతోపాటు.. జామ, అరటి, దానిమ్మ వంటి పండ్ల తోటల సాగూ మొదలుపెట్టా. ఇప్పుడు రోజుకి టన్నుకు పైగా కాయగూరలు విక్రయిస్తున్నాం. గతేడాది రూ.1.25 కోట్ల వ్యాపారం చేశా. ఒకప్పుడు వ్యవసాయం అంటే కంప్యూటర్‌ ముందు కూర్చున్నంత తేలికేం కాదు అన్నవాళ్లంతా ఇప్పుడు నన్ను సలహాలు అడుగుతున్నారు. 20మందికి ఉపాధి అందిస్తుంటే ప్రశంసిస్తున్నారు. మరిన్ని నగరాలకు ఆరోగ్యకరమైన కూరగాయలు, పండ్లను అందించాలన్నదే నా లక్ష్యం.

Good for her…its good to see younger generation are moving towards production than service… 

for most of us family responsibilities…are the key to do this feat…at least we can tell to our kids how to become self-made boss…

Just my opinion…

Water, land, pest (insects)..etc are common problems in farming…

every problem ni address chestoo enno different methods and techniques evolved..

organic farmin, regenerative farming, intensive farming, horticulture, permaculture, surface irrigation, drip irrigation..etc even for soil , land and bad weather conditions also addressed by hydroponics, aquaponics, vertical farming ..etc these movements and methods are bigger and wider than it terminology..

in our traditional farming society (10 15 yrs back) most of the farmers were uneducated and inherited old way of doing farming…

now these new engineers who are moving to farming finding new methods which is welcoming change…like in this news how this girl spend time to research and developed her own organic fertilizer..etc

No negtive bro…i am happy to discuss and learn…these things…

farming ante okka paddy ne kaadhu kada…there are variety of crops…depends on the soil and water resources and also variety of techniques…

desert lo ఖర్జూరాలు pandistunnaru gaa..alane mana soil and water ki taggattu different crop..different kind of farming…

If you follow the permaculture techniques…there wide variety of water storage and irrigation mechanism…(check the water cup challenge)…

and there are different water filter and reuse techniques like aquaponics and hydroponics…which you use very less water…(i am actually growing tomota plant with this hydroponic system in my home…just an experiment)

there are some success stories in india also who adopted different techniques…

I too dont have any practical knowledge …all I have some info i collected out of passion..but next generation should focus in these seriously to avoid inevitable food scarcity…
