glad then AP government banned these products in 2000’s and 2010’s, maa oorla kuda iddaru mugguru cancer tho poyaru appatla.

I was reading this article and it is estimated to be 50k per year industry anta, sachin joshi gani daggara 410 crores cash tho dorkindu anta last year and it didn’t even made it to news. Seem this addiction is dangerous than smoking.

Guntur fellows, okkappudu guntur side areas lo one of the prominent cash crops was tobacco, is it still the case?

Tobacco is reducing in extent but it's still widely grown in Prakasam, guntur , parts of  rayalaseema

From last year onwards a lot of them shifted to cotton due to high prices

The problem with banning is, addicts will still find ways to buy them and our extremely corrupt administration will look the other way

For example it's banned in AP but you can buy them even in remote villages for decades now. It's mostly poor people who chew

Legalising marijuana will be a good step, it's not that determinal to health and addicts can shift to it. It can be easily grown in our climate too, so addicts will not waste money

Agree, addicts will find a way to procure them but atleast it kept away people who might otherwise would have been fallen for it (i believe the ban might have helped a bit to lower the consumption in Telugu states)

Nah it never works like that , majority of addicts are inter generational ones.

If your parents drink or smoke , then the kids  most likely pick up the same habit at young age. this cycle is almost never ending unless you remove their parenthood

There are thousands of studies done on this and some solutions already exist but for most governments it is morally unacceptable

Even in US , most kids in public schools are vaping from very young age and they can't seem to tackle it with all the police training and resources
