as far as i know ... not safe to visit alone ... unless u have a local,  trustworthy, reference verified tour guide ...

for visa ... matamaros and tijuana better ...

 Not For stamping. Thanks giving holiday trip with wife. I have a colleague from local city who would give me 2 days company, rest 4 days I have to be on my own.

having a local friend helps a lot ...

get to know the areas to avoid ...

try to wear fake gold ornaments ... as robberies of visitors is very common ... so even if stolen ... not to worry ..

dont carry passports in bags while roaming ... if bags are stolen ... hard to recover passports ...

better stay at hilton or marriot that are safe to stay n no robbery while u go for local tour ...

Mostly they will take away your jewelry, purse and bags good luck with those 4 days. Don’t step out side of the hotel. Even you go for dinner/lunch they will rob you

Been to Mexico City and Guadalajara, better planned cities than any Indian city. The City represents a lot of Spanish culture and history, museums, art etc

Most of our Indian IT companies have Development centers here

Always be cautious of your surroundings, enjoy the cool vibe and good food.
