VPN shouldn’t have issues. DNS resolver only so it shouldn’t be an issue at all. Regarding selling data you can read their privacy policy. If you don’t use custom dns resolver your dns data is in hands of your ISP. most ISPs already sell dns data. So it doesn’t matter.

Router level lo ante complicated. You need paid account. Nextdns will have setup instructions for each device.
