I said how the economy is different and how the demography is markedly different. Tibet population is 3.6 million in a country of 1400 million. China still protected its language as much as it can.

Tibet is poorest province in china and without funds that come from han provicnes it will freeze in winters and starve in summers.

Does any of it apply to relatively wealthy coastal areas of india with significant populations ?

There is a reason Hindi is getting implemented. You need to go to the history of how hindi came to be selected. the constituent Assembly in 1949 adopted hindi language and the the govt of India in 1950 after becoming republic adopted hindi and english as its preferred language of official correspondence and in 15 years later it was supposed to be only Hindi as english was the language of colonials.

But Jawahar Lal Nehru after the anti hindi agitations from Tamil Nadu left it to the states to continue in English until they adopted hindi as the "sole" official language. many committees later and Indira Gandhi and retired judges recommendations, also the efforts were only crawling.

Article 351 of the Indian constitution make it duty of the Indian govt to promote Hindi. That is why you see circulars in Hindi not only by this govt but by the previous ones, not because they are from North or South.

The states that are protesting should simply ask to revoke this article and if needed fight it out in Supreme Court that in today's globalized world we can't have Hindi as a sole language through out India. But they will not do that and instead use this to prop people in an agitation.

Here is chidambaram trying to propagate the same Hindi language and its importance in 2011. he is essentially saying the same thing coated in different words.

Chidambaram was head of committee that oversaw the effort to "propagate Hindi through out India", effort that had inputs from BJP MPs also as a part of that committees, DMK was part of the central govt, but no agitations then. It was decided that step wise this was going to be implemented.

what you see are some of the steps being put into motion.

I have written the process as to why Hindi was selected in the 1947-1950's time frame as a common link language. If you know the reasons then maybe a solution can be found.

Link language was supposed to be for everyone in the country to speak when they go to different states and due to local language barrier it becomes difficult to communicate.

I posted links for that reason, today tamil tambis speaking about hindi imposition were silent in 2011 when chidambaram did the same thing, DMK was in the central govt, did they try stopping the same when hindi was being propagated.

Malli raastunna, Govt is mandated to propagate Hindi because of Article 351 and there are court cases once in a while asking progress of the same. Just because you don't like Hindi and the news channel that you see said it is BJP imposition when many prior govts did the same won't change anything.

If you or the politicians really want to challenge Hindi then ask for article 351 repeal, without that doing hartal or bandh will achieve nothing, even having CBN or pavan as AP CM will achieve nothing. if you want this to go away i have also pointed out that english has risen for various reasons like jobs, communication in a globalized world to be used as a reason.

Central govt employees posted to different regions in the country have to learn hindi as its central to communicating with people, devanagari script being closer to most languages in india (not all). you see that with IAS officers that are deputed to states, people try to talk in local languages because our politicians can't speak hindi, but they also try to learn local languages which is why you will feel certain IAS officers Telugu a bit unnatural.

One last thing, constitution lo vundi kabatte chestunnaru, Jan Gana Mana is our national anthem hence its sung in schools and during parades. else people can sing AA ante amala puram also not withstanding north south divide.
