Kavitha to be made BRS national coordinator?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi legislative council member and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who had gone missing in action at the time of renaming of the party as Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) last week, is now all set to play a key role in the new outfit.

According to party sources, the chief minister has decided to entrust Kavitha with key responsibilities in the BRS at the national level, including expanding the party network to various states and interacting with various stakeholders.

Sources said KCR might anoint Kavitha as the national coordinator of the BRS and her place of action would be in Delhi. As such, she will have little role to play in Telangana.

Apparently, the chief minister is learnt to have taken the decision to clear the hurdles, if any, for his son K T Rama Rao from emerging as his successor in the state.

In all probability, KTR might be appointed as the president of BRS Telangana state unit and the next chief ministerial candidate.

Since Kavitha would be confined to Delhi, there would be no hurdles or headache for KTR from his sister. In all probability, KCR may ask Kavitha to contest the next Lok Sabha elections from Nizamabad or nominate her to Rajya Sabha.

Kavitha, who triggered a lot of speculations in the media about her absence at the launch of BRS on Dasara day, did not even issue a statement or tweet about KCR entering national politics or the change of name of the party.

There were reports in the media that Kavitha was sulking for not being involved in the process of forming the national party nor being given any responsibility for the Munugode by-election.

However, on Tuesday, Kavitha was back in action. She was seen flying along with her father to Uttar Pradesh to pay homage to departed Samajwadi Party president and former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

She hogged the limelight in the media at Lucknow airport and also at Mulayam’s village Saifai. Later, she flew down to New Delhi along with KCR, where she is expected to stay for a day or two as part of her father’s “national mission.”
