* Rather than updating LinkedIn to reflect that they work at Canopy, made LinkedIn profile private upon accepting our offer.
* Didn't sign up for benefits (not always an indication of something wrong, but true in both cases here).
* Defaulted to having camera off in meetings.
* Slow response times on Slack/email.
* Frequently late to or absent for meetings with no explanation.
* Worked for very large companies, where it seems it may be easier to hang out and hide divided efforts.

This is true for full time offers..

but majority of this forum and desis do consulting work - and work from home. Nearly impossible to find out, unless they give company laptop and check login time.

They do it and its public.

Even you can do this - it is not illegal per govt - it is upto company they are okay with it or not.

Exactly but they shouldn’t be doing it too that’s my point.

What? Do you understand what the role of board of directors is? You are too naive ...

Yeah , he has every right - he can fire you for any reason - just like you can quit the company for any reason. American is "at-will" in private sector.

It is not illegal - it means, unless you explicitly sign something saying you won't work for other companies (it has to be explicitly specified - say other financial company), then they can file a case.

But you doing 2 or 3 jobs is absolutely legal as long as you didn't violate any terms that you signed.
