Take both salaries and afford insurance yourself

Decline insurance on one... No one cares, they might think you get it with your wife.

You can adjust w-4 to deduct more money or directly pay IRS... When you pay IRS, you just select the year and they will take it. When you file taxes , add them in tax payments.

Why do they care if u have insurance? It's not like auto or home where the loan provider wants you to show insurance.

Do you remember filling w-4 when you joined? that form actually have worksheet for multiple jobs.

Tax payment is tax payment - just Google for IRS direct payment and choose 1040 and year 2022. This is to pay extra tax so that you don't pay penalty .. if you pay extra , you will get it back

Worst that could happen is getting fired unless you have signed some kind of agreement that you are not working other job while working for for this employer (could get into legal issues). I was working for a company that handles Govt projects, so they requested me to sign such agreement, resign chesa (not worth the risk).

Also, make sure you are not working for competitors, like both financial clients…etc.

Yes, if there are competitors then usually there is exclusion clause
