Dow to Cut 2,000 Jobs Globally

Dow Inc said it is laying off about 2,000 employees globally as job cuts that have so far been concentrated in the technology sector spread to other parts of the economy.

The Midland, Mich.-based chemicals company said it is targeting $1 billion in cost cuts this year as slowing economic growth and a drop-off in demand weigh on sales.

Dow on Thursday also posted weaker-than-expected results for the fourth quarter. Revenue fell more than 17% to $11.86 billion, missing analysts’ estimates, with the company citing slowing economic growth around the world and destocking of inventory by customers.

Dow said it is targeting $500 million in structural improvements and another $500 million in operating cost reductions. The company said it would look to cut costs tied to purchasing raw materials, logistics and utilities.

for default 60days you dont need to do anything extra..

there is process to only for cases which surprass 60days, you need to file for EAD under critical circumstances.

hope people get placed before that 60day period.

severance period lo those wont work i think @k2s sign-off papers lo mention chestaru..

u cannot take paternity or go for leave of absence  beyond the 60 days

try to find a job in 60 days bro adi dorakpothe find a desi emp who can run a pay roll and do h1 transfer

some people already on maternity , paternity got laid off bro the law only protects if its selective targetted laid off, costcutting, role elimination type of layoffs lo dont think any law can protect the termination day will be along the same lines as regular
