Elon Musk says free employee lunches at Twitter HQ were costing more than $400 per meal

Days after slashing half of Twitter's workforce and U-turning on its remote work policy, new CEO Elon Musk is mulling another cost-cutting strategy: charging for meals that were previously provided for free at the company headquarters in San Francisco.

The conversation surrounding free meals at Twitter headquarters began on Friday, when the New York Times reported that Musk plans to begin making employees pay for lunch at the company cafeteria.

On Sunday, Musk kicked off another debate on Twitter when he tweeted that the estimated cost per lunch served in the past 12 months exceeded $400, with annual food service costs estimated to be around $13 million in the San Francisco Twitter headquarters.

why are people hoping for companies to close. if an alternative like tiktok vasthe andaru happy aa?

i mean not liking it is different thing.....hoping for it fail and close is different level.

oh ok. company is accumulating losses ani dorsey ee annadu. he agreed that he expanded the company too soon and he agreed it was his mistake. if the board made the decision to cut employees , then the stock would have sunk. 

now musk wanted to cut the workforce inorder to stop the losses. now you might find it cruel , but then 3 month severance was given. what else do you want him to do? keep accumulating losses?

they way he removed workforce is very humiliating…now discussion on thus breakfast cost with previous employees much more lower..

if you see the news today..he is heading court on ceo pay of 54 billion dollars pay..that same guy is crying on breakfast cost..thats only left 50% employees..

let the twitter sink in musk hands…

as i said , none of these are reasons for hoping company get shut down . many companies do not pay for lunch. some ceos think its needed , others might not. especially when a company is not making profit. i already told you reason for layoffs.

too much media attention is giving people reasons to hate him and eventually the company. i just hope the company turns profitable and people want to be part of it.
