T-Mobile Magenta Max plan. Data/Txt is free in India. It picks up Airtel network as International roaming partner. Calls to US is 25cents/min. If you are on wifi in india, then its like phone is in US only and calls also become free to US.

Indian airports lo wifi has an issue. They need India number for OTP. How will intl arrivals have India number??? With t-mobile just do a whatsapp call as soon as you land.

Naadi essentials plan. So I've added the international 1 day pass on the day of arrival.

Using your US phone in India can be a bit tricky but totally doable with some tips and tricks. Here's what worked for me: First off, Sims Direct is a game-changer when it comes to staying connected without breaking the bank. Grabbing a local SIM card as soon as you land is key – you'll get better rates for calls, texts, and data compared to roaming with your US carrier.

Another cool hack is using messaging apps like WhatsApp or Skype for free calls over Wi-Fi – super handy for keeping in touch with fam back home without draining your data. Oh, and if you're into social media (who isn't?), having a decent data plan will let you snap, chat, and gram your adventures hassle-free.
