Their life is defined by multiple opposite sex partners and constantly need validation and love... Kind of mental condition... They can't help, they need that dopamine every day..

That explains multiple boy friends / friends same time .

Problems arise when they come across old school boys... Who want only one girl friend at a time and want to to marry them.
