Stupid Immigration Question: H4 EAD when H1B resigns

I think I know the answer but wanted to confirm.

If H1-B resigns for a job can H4-EAD still continue to work? My understanding is H1-B has 60 day grace period hence H4-EAD can work for 60 days too. Please correct me.

Hmm , H4 ead is valid as long as h4 is valid bro , so there should be grace period for dependant too it should be fine 

But just curious why will person resign without a Job? Your context mostly in case of lay off correct?
