Actually AP literacy rate was comparable to that of Karnataka by 90's , we all know who ruled the state afterwards and even fell behind Bihar by mid 2000's .

Tamil Nadu has less per capita income than even UP by 80's , they had a good run afterwards unlike Andhra

BTW  even with less literacy - TELUGU people benefited massively whether jobs opened in karantaka or TN or Hyd or america. Telugu people presence is significantly higher.
