yes bro, situation very worst. The roads are filled with snow melted and thickened ice and walking on the streets became very dangerous.

During these bad times, if you fall sick, its a call to near death situation.

Main reason for the strikes is the real & net income levels getting lower and lower due to high and higher inflation. This high inflation is due to over printing of currency during Covid packages. Plus Russian war induced burst of energy prices.

High interest rates led to very high mortgage rates thus making the situation ripe for Housing market collapse. This is just tip of the ice burg.

N.B: The way he speaks is too funny, but the way he presented NHS is heart-breaking bro. NHS is the first of its kind in the entire world which provides health care for everyone for FREE from small bandage to Liver cirrhosis. Its the Proudest thing  for Brits(even though in recent times the quality of delivery hammered due to workers shortage) to claim after the collapse of the Empire ..

NHS ki oka dannam....  waiting times suck..

In 2016 i got TB and to diagnose TB they took 3 weeks ... for blood test results they took 2 days..

For bronchoscopy test results another 2 weeks...

After they confirmed i got TB for giving me free medicines another 2 days waiting...

I know how much i suffered during the waiting time period as i was coughing blood as well and no helpline to answer my questions...

nenu medicines start chesina taruvata i was coughing more blood and wanted to have clarification so went to Emergency service and they said i should not come for emergency in middle of medication and should rather consult doctors... i said the doctor is on leave and other supporting doctors had no idea of my problem...

Worst disgusting health service especially due to wait times and relying on it in old age is out of question...

100% true in your case. TB is still an unexplored area for the UK and Europe. One of our family frends got it and she was treated fairly quicker in 2020. It could have costed her crores of INR if it were to be in India. She got in one of the kidneys. NHS cannot deal TB in its current form.

having said that NHS response for other emergencies is really great and I have experienced that. Got chest pain and told them I was suspecting heart attack. Within 4 hours they finished all check ups and released me only after 100% confirmation that its due to gastric problem

£1 sandwiches pooyi chaala roojulu ayyindhi mate.... I think you have forgotten the fact that M&S is a bit premier brand than Tesco, so it would have costed a bit more any day.

The whole section of sandwiches you mentioned are costing no lesser than £2.50 now, probably Meal Deals might be a bit more worthy, with a snack or drink as supplement for a total of £3.50 something.

The National Minimum wage also got nearly doubled from your time, 2009-10. It used to be £5.9 per hour that time, but now its around £10.50

Incidentally I came around the same time in the UK and was working as sandwich maker for sometime in Samworth Brothers factories in Leicester. By any chance, were you living there in Leicester during 2009-10?

Coming to your question, no lunch is cheaper than £5.00 now. Even our own desi outlets charging £10 for a biryani meal. So sad to see such a worst inflation.

But salaries have improved too. I used to get £32,000 in 2010 with my first software job break. But the perm roles are now paying around £80k-100k with proper experience.

Luckily for me, I have been into contracting since 2014 and made some money, invested on rental houses helping me pay of my current mortgage. Last few years, IT jobs wise, it was very good. People saved a lot and now surviving these bad times.

But for new comers, UK is a hell hole as the things stand by now.

In 2009-2010 pound also depreciated. Probably pound is half its value now since 2009

I checcked the price now by googling. It is 3.99 in tesco. It used to be 1 pound then. So increase in 4 times.

Salaries only IT lo ne periginattunnai. we have to thank ap govt for increasing visibility and oppurtunities for IT.

Migatha antha - i dont see huge salary increases.

I lived all over UK - from Leeds to edingburgh to south of london - but not leicester.
