It will have the same effect as a H4 trying to get it approved before current expiry because they loose the job without status. Compelling circumstance ni 60 days lopu prove cheyyakapothe u wont have EAD and thus any underlying status. After 60 days, you will start accumulating unauthorized period of stay and getting EAD approved is out of question at that point. catch 22 situation idi.
