Kerala model of lockdown worked for the 1st wave and it failed when a more virulent strain came about during the second wave in delta variant. the govt needed to move quickly. There were only two states in the country that didn't have a first and second wave- because there were always cases going by large numbers - maharashtra and Kerala. Did you hear anyone even question why the cases were such high in number and what the govt was doing?

Atleast CBN had to work 91/2 years in his first stint as CM to earn a title of being a good CM. Uddav became the best CM in a matter of 1-2 months. No media questioned anything about the covid cases and what was being done.

People were asked to beat thaalis and light diyas to have a shared view of the pandemic and to move collectively and that is very difficult. the best example is this site, where any discussion on AP politics will devolve into Jagan, CBN and Pawan kalyan and abusing the other supporters. But very few will come with something that the state needs and what can be done which is again collectively agreed by everyone.

I am saying i don't know their official figures from 1st covid waves - from memory it was between 4000-5000 dead. I am going with what their official account is, but if you go by their official accounts there was no action on covid initially and people went to their places for new year from cities for a good month or so.

So by logic shouldn't their covid infections and casualties be higher is my question. And as i said maybe they have higher resistance to the coronovirus, because they eat exotic food as per official chinese account of it spreading from wuhan wet markets.

Whatever ventilators they provided were also done free of cost from PM CARES fund. Similarly the Center bore the cost of covid vaccines but the logistics within the states is still states responsibility to say which area needs how many and where they intend to store the excess untill the next batch arrives.

Pipe down - nobody called anybody sub human here, if you want to project your own bias on others, do it somewhere else. Its China's official account that wuhan virus came from China's wet markets (where they sell their so called exotic) food (bats, alligators, sea food) and not in any lab and for the record i don't have any issue with their food, just the logic of how they had so many less deaths when they didn't even bother about it for days. for a guy who claims to read up a lot on china either you don't know much or want to accomodate chinese POV as and when you like. i am not claiming anything other than what chinese themselves have said when they stonewalled WHO investigation into covid origins. Just because i raised questions on their death count, you don't have to burst a vein, not to mention constantly changing goalposts instead of answering questions on chinese deaths during first wave.

Since 2014 with new planning commission, they are giving 42% of taxes and also taking national highways, railways under them and the state will have to do land acquisition instead of the earlier method of giving states some 32% of taxes amount and project costs then constantly revising them to feed local politics due to change in alignments and what not. States still make money on liquor and fuel charges though.

They changed railways coaches into makeshift covid centers when case numbers were running high in india. Workers were on the streets and had to walk home or sent home due to the imbeciles running Maharashtra , Delhi and Rajasthan where they dumped the people in buses on UP borders or created a mess in railway stations. And yes they ran special trains to send people back to UP, Bihar and Bengal mostly as the migrant workers come from there and they did that after the states said we can't feed them or won't feed them.

for all the talk of nyc housing beggars in hotels they ended up killing people in old age centers and else where and hushed it up as the gov cuomo guy wanted to prove his credentials in front of trump. and the number of people killed in the US while they kept their economy open due to their own compulsions is something we chose to not do in india.
