Buy Tesla Y or Not

First, this discount is only available if you take delivery this year. As in, within the next week. Good luck getting one in a week.

This is because the US Treasury department just announced changes to how they're doing EV tax credits that means Teslas qualify for a $7500 tax cut next year which they won't have now.

So first off, it's not a good deal because the price is somewhat equivalent to what it'll be in the future.

Second off, Tesla prices have been hiked $10-30K across the board since 2020. They've also cut LIDAR and used a cheaper battery chemistry on the base Model 3 that loses much more range in the winter. Nothing else in the industry has been price-gouged so heavily. It's a bad deal.

If I really wanted a new Tesla, I'd personally wait a few months. Used Tesla prices are falling drastically, and especially with the tech and automotive recession... If they're ever going to lower prices, it won't be long.

Very well explained good post bro

Yeah, my delivery is scheduled for 30th and I am aware of EV credits stating next year but that depends on income and I dont think I would qualify.

I can claim a depreciation of 18k incl bonus if I buy one car this year through my Llc.

Depreciation is 10% for first year/10k miles - is it more?

How can you claim depreciation on car baa?

It’s more than 10% because price your buying is high and there are people who got it lower price and selling now for example me I got it at 53k when tried to list got offers for 64k..

I see some of the noob comments here regarding battery and LiDAR I would say do a 30min of research and you would get answers for that ..

and I also see some are good quesion you have to ask your self if you really need car now ? Or out of passion for drive ?or peer pressure ? Prices are at peak with deflation any car has to adjust prices not just Tesla so prices will fall

and related to demand here is news coming out this minute “”Unofficial trackers of Tesla’s available inventory, such as EV-CPO Hunter, suggest that the company’s inventory is getting depleted in several areas across the globe. The unofficial tracker’s estimates, for example, show that there are just about 120 Model 3 and 168 Model Y left in the United States, including used vehicles. This suggests that Tesla’s demand for its electric cars remains strong, despite the stream of competition coming out. ”

I do agree demand is failing but remember on June 2022 Tesla was sold out there cars until October 2023
