HSBC was mainly call center with limited Software , they  had many issues and one of my classmate was also in Software dev management role. He told the pay they offer for SW is not attractive to bring anyone from major cities.

 

Now post Covid, if Govt gives a push, Vizag IT will develop faster, Uttarandhra moodu jillalu, East Godavari janalaku, Orissa lo border districts ki Vizag is center for health, education and many other things.

Unfortunately neither TDP nor YCP gives any push for Vizag.

2018 end lo i was in Vizag during christmas season, went to meet a friend working in TechM , he told Govt hurriedly  leased the emtpy TechM building and moved all small companies working our Apartments and stuff and brought our IT minister Lokesh to inaugurate the facility. They offered office space cheaper than what these companies are paying in apartments.

if they did this in 2014 instead of pushing people to Vijayawada or Amaravati, may be Vizag could have attracted few more companies.

Probably you are true. Thats why when I say something I give approx. Timeframes like 2012-13. Still what you said might be true even in that time frame. Our relative might not be knowing why people from Hyd and Bang were reluctant that time to come to Vizag. Probably low salary as you said was the main reason

Vorei baabu, ee Microsoft aneedhi mass employer kaadhu. Microsoft India ki vochina raakapoina Outsourcing was the key. There is no specific advantage to Telugus or Microsoft for locating to Hyd. The cost efficiency factor was and is the key for USA, UK, EU, Japan,AUS companies to outsource to India. Microsoft’s office in Hyd has got nothing to do with mass employment generated by Indian IT. 
When it comes to CBN and IT its all about numbers. But CBNs main USP is Microsoft Office in Hyd which definitely did not generate mass employment .

Its an anchor client. It was followed by Deloitte and so many others. Let me share personal observations :

many of these TCS,Cognizant were very reluctant to expand in hyderabad. they saw hyd and ap beneath thier attention. Pune ki veltham, kolkotta ki veltham, delhi ki veltham antu yedhava sollu.

When microsoft came to hyd, it gave instant brand recognition and they can no longer say no to hyd expansion. Even clients were asking for it.

So my hopes for AP revival is 2029 elections, new partys, New leaders..2024 lo pedda marpulu emi jaragaka povachhu..

yendhi grow ayyedhi. Party petti 10 years avuthundhi. where will they have funds to sustain ? every election ante they need to spend 500 crores minimum - i estimate.
