Ranji Trophy: Mumbai posted a massive 687/4 declared against Assam owing to Prithvi Shaw's sensational 379. The batter speaks about his off form and a potential India call-up.

Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw turned heads by scoring an incredible 379 runs against Assam in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. Shaw's exceptional innings, laced with 49 boundaries and 4 sixes strengthened the call for his inclusion in the Indian side, at least in one format of the game.

The batter spoke about his lean patch and drop from the Indian side and said that he would get frustrated sometimes.

"Sometimes, you do get frustrated," Shaw told news agency PTI in an interview.

The batter had a successful domestic season in the white-ball format, but was not having a good time in the Ranji Trophy. He brought an end to it with a 401-run partnership alongside Ajinkya Rahane, the veteran player who was dropped from the Indian side for poor form.

"You know you are doing your things right. You know you are doing your processes right, you are honest with your self, disciplined with your career on and off the field. But sometimes people do talk differently. People who don't even know you judge you," the hurt was palpable in his voice.

The batter further added that he was judged by the people who did not know him, something that fuelled him in 2022.

 

"People who are not with me when I am not doing well, I don't really care about them. Just like to ignore them. That's the best policy," said the second man after Sachin Tendulkar to hit a Test hundred in his teens.

Asled about India return, Shaw said that he was not thinking about it and wanted to focus on the tournament at hand.

"I will just do my work and not think about India call-up," Shaw said.

Karun nair form dipped a lot after that... Prithvi is a natural talent no comparisions between the two.

Priyam Garg, Yashaswi Jaiswal, inka chala mandi talented and U19 proved youngsters unnaru. This guy got lot of chances, but outside mostly struggles.

Sachin,Kohli, Laxman, Dravid and for a bit Ganguly also did not become stars just like, they all had their weaknesses and worked on overcoming them. 

Veediki baaga young age lo fame vachhaka, he couldnt handle it, Drugs issue, Outside India form is bad. He needs to work with coaches to overcome his defects and try to play county cricket (if someone signs him up ).

Subcontinent bully gaa undi pote he will just be history.

Priyam & Yashaswi haven't even played half number of FC/Domestic games what Prithiv has played let them play consistently and prove.. BTW Yashaswi will be bigger reconing name than Priyam in future.

 

How many chances did prithvi got just 5 tests after making debut and doing well went to Australia tour in 2018 but got injured when he was in very good form.

After that did well in domestic circuit and got selected and played 2 tests in NZ got starts but no big scores can say chance lost.. In 2020-21 Australia failed in Aus test like all Indian batters and has been sidelined and you are saying he got lots of chances.

He went thru some injuries and has been doing well in domestic circuit so is certainly ging make a come back soon.

Pant is probably recovering from his road accident that happened in to the new year first few days of Jan.

Pant was also criticized by the ex-captain of indian team and was in and out till he had some scores to justify his place. He needs more consistency in scoring.

Our ex-captain has a certain mindset and people not in his plans are dropped out of the team with very little explanation.

Prithvi Shaw scoring 370 odd just means he has potential and he and the team coaches will have to work on him to reach his potential. Ayina appatlo coach ravi shastri ee gaa prithvi shaw nadustunte Tendulkar, Lara kanapadutunnaru ani cheppindi.

Injuries and then banned substance "doping" valla suspended for 8 months. Indian team will have to start from scratch after the world cup probably.

Played only one game in Australia and all of them failed in Adelaide test deserves more chances for sure.

Post that failures he did very well in domestic circuit.
