Balayya fans go frenzy, bad name to India

Balayya fans go frenzy, bad name to India

We have read about the song penned by famous poet of yesteryears Rayaprolu Subba Rao: “Ae Desamegina.. Endu Kallidinaa… Pogadaraa Nee Talli Bhoomi Bharathini” (Which ever country you go, wherever you step in, you should praise your motherland India).

But our people have forgotten this simple preaching. Forget praising the motherland, they are bringing a bad name to the country while staying abroad.

Especially our cinema fans in other countries like the US. They have crossed all borders of decency and damaging the reputation of India.

The fans are virtually divided on caste lines and are indulging in fisticuffs, sometimes leading to even arrests by the US police.

A similar incident was witnessed on Thursday (Wednesday night in the US), during the release of Telugu film “Veerasimha Reddy” starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in a US theatre.

The fans of Balakrishna went frenzy and created a big nuisance in the theatre by shouting “Jai Balayya” slogans. They resorted to ruckus in the cinema auditorium, tore papers and threw up in the air in a frenzied mood.

The theatre owners had no other option but to stop screening of the film and drive away all the audiences in the hall. They even called the police who pulled up the fans and took them to task. A video of this entire ugly episode is now going viral on the social media.

The theatre management said several Telugu movies were screened in the theatre in the past, but never had they witnessed such unruly behaviour by the fans of any other hero. For the first time, they had to shut down the theatre because of Balayya fans.

In the post-pandemic period, thousands of Telugu students went to the US for higher studies. As a result, the number of audiences to the Telugu films in the theatres has gone up.

One wonders whether one should feel jubilant over the rising collections for Telugu films or bad about the bad behaviour of our fans leading to caste conflicts, thereby damaging the reputation of India.
