India imports a lot of important items from china that sustains it's domestic industries.

Electronics like mobiles , laptops  power the IT industry which get 250 bil $

Pharma API's are very important for Pharma exports , industry will collapse if chinese imports are stopped.

Solar panels reduce energy imports over long term

Electronic components are imported from china and india exports finished products. iPhone exports are increasing at huge rate

Lithium ion batteries are needed for EV industry , same way for many tools , etc

It's not just india , most countries are also very critically dependant on such imports from china including USA

Govt is taking steps to overcome dependence on critical areas like Pharma , solar , lithium ion batteries , etc

Pharma API industry is investing hugely to reduce china dependency ,kakinada will become one of the major hubs for it

China produces like 90% of worlds solar panels . Adani, Ambani has huge plans to invest in domestic solar panel production

As for lithium ion plants , india has very little road map as of now. Will still be largely import dependant

oka range lo unnai cover drives. evanni 2020 lo kooda vinnam.

only true thing is that electronics exports have shot up from India. but still nowhere close to the growth China achieved in its electronics exports some 10-15yrs ago.

Pharma API develop  cheyyataaniki few months chaalu. same with solar panels, other electronic components. but the question is, who's gonna buy the things that India produces. lmao.

China is not gonna buy these from India. and India doesn't produce enough to justify moving supply chains centering around India.

a lot of Indians don't realise that India is fcuked. few states have a decent future if they acted independently of India, but combined India is fcuked at birth itself. Its a surprise India survived for 70yrs, torturing its people with poverty and malnutrition.

US lo 'chinese products' meedha joke esthaaru, as if they are of low quality, but still kontaru because they know that its mostly reliable.

Indian products pakkana kooda poru. It'll take a long time for them to trust Indian products, made worse by some recent bad experience of importing low quality goods from India in the US.

govt entha 'invest' chesina waste. but ofcourse 'govt' em peddaga invest cheyyatla anuko.

But china doesn't want anyone in their IT services field , they are extremely protectionist

The fact that there's this much trade deficit tells that India lacks skilled people. This deficit is only going to increase as youngsters these days r anything but skilled. They're entitled, low IQ, fraudulent, casteist, some chest thumping nationalists. They don't even wake up early in the morning.

Chinese might not be genius like Jewish people or even White people. They mastered the art of copying & they do it very good. Worst thing is my cigarette lighter is also made in China. That's how much bad the situation is!

No. India lacks a coherent policy addressing demand issues. India can produce world class goods in time, but needs a buffer space until it gets there. Govt has no plan to address that.

they think India will magically become the factory of the world just because they give some 20% subsidy to input goods in targeted industries.

better to have govt buy a lot of stuff (via competitive bids) that is produced initially to create some kind of demand, and slowly tap the export markets.

govt stop buying from suppliers like samsung, lenovo and encourage local products.
