Air travel to India through Canada + Expired h1B

Hello Brothers ,

is there any transit visa requirements when travelling to India through Canada ? 
 

anyone travelled recently ? Please throw some light 

 

I checked on aircanada website , it looks like it is allowed with valid 797 doc  . But I wanted to check if anyone went through this and their experience

you would need transit visa if flying thru canada

Transit visa required if flying through Canada, although the cost for visa is free.

To connect between 2 international flights, in less than 48 hours.

Cost: Free

 

Note: If you have more than 48 hours between international flights OR if you decide to visit Canada, you need to apply for a visitor visa.

I spoke to customer service and they confirmed that there is no transit visa required if we have valid i797

Dont believe in Customer service as some of them might not knew all the rules... I know my friends had to cancel and rebook in last minute due to transit visa

 

the only time you do not need transit visa is if you have visitor visa
