Depends on one’s metabolism and daily routine too .. kontha mandi 2 times rice thinna em undadu .. kontha mandi once a day limited quantity thinna they will get affected with diabetis .. so best thing to do is, have workout in ur daily routine, get ur blood-work done yearly (or regularly, as advised by your PCP)

from wiki…

Red rice is a variety of rice that is colored red by its anthocyanin content. It is usually eaten unpolished or partially polished, and has a red bran layer, rather than the more common pale brown. Red rice has a nutty flavor. It has the highest nutritional value [quantify]among rices eaten with the bran intact.[citation needed]. Some red rice has a low glycemic index. The rice will be slowly digested and energy will be slowly released. This will cause a slower increase in blood sugar levels. Red rice contains high antioxidant levels that reduce free radicalsin the organism. It is also a richer source of iron, magnesium, calcium and zinc than white rice.

Wild rice is relatively high in protein, the amino acidlysine and dietary fiber, and low in fat. Nutritional analysis shows wild rice to be the grain second only to oats in protein content per 100 calories. Like true rice, it does not contain gluten. It is also a good source of certain minerals and B vitamins. One cup of cooked wild rice provides 5% or more of the daily value of thiamin, riboflavin, iron, and potassium; 10% or more of the daily value of niacin, vitamin B6, folate, magnesium, phosphorus; 15% of zinc; and over 20% of manganese.

Safety

Wild rice seeds can be infected by the highly toxic fungus ergot, which is dangerous if eaten. Infected grains have pink or purplish blotches or growths of the fungus, from the size of a seed to several times larger.
