I got notice this morning - L4 TPM just joined less than a year ago. Did all the work they gave me thoroughly. They say give time to settle in - still let me go. Shocker .. life moves on starting job search now. Feeling Sad.. they talk so much about google culture no chance to say even goodbye to your team

Got a bunch of text messages at 5AM today and got up to see what all the commotion was. Got locked out of all my corp stuff and got email in personal about the layoff, and severance.

Honestly I was a bit relieved at the news because my manager was getting quite toxic and I was planning to quit anyway. Severance is 2 months WARN + 16 weeks + 2 weeks for each year of employment, which is longer than I was planning to stay.

I met my future wife at Google, which made all of it worth it for me. Also made plenty of friends that I probably would not have otherwise, so I won't have to be funemployed alone. Probably going to take a bit of a break since there are going to be tons of people applying and not many jobs right now. I am a US citizen so there is no urgency.

WARN ante ? also is this pay only basic pay or does it include stock options also ?

WARN act is, employer needs to inform the employee about layoff 60 days prior to the termination date.

so Feb1st ki Lay off inform cheste, last working date will be April 2nd or 3rd.

 

reg pay - only basic pay istaru, and if any RSU vesting date falls in those 2 months you will get your RSU vested..migtiavanni bisket.

anything out of 2 months, no RSUs you will loose it.
