Second this. Now a days all companies are going this route, even those that don't pay much

anni manchike ani nenu anukonu,. kaani idi maree anta beebhatsamaina baadhapade matter kaadu. definitely a set back but you will recover.

hire a professional coach to re-do resume and focus on technical brushup. hiring a coach is 100% worth it. you can write that expense off as a genuine tax deduction if you itemize.

@phatposts hiring coach for resume where and how to look for one? please suggest

does it make sense to be do this in advance before need and be ready or do it when you are ready for applying?

fair disclaimer - nenu kooda inka cheyyaledu. Kaani I am in the process of vetting few firms who do this.

Just resume re-writing aithe $3-500 ki chala mandi chestaru. But I am paying a bigger firm for few things together : resume makeover, 4 - one/one counselling to help with interview prep, how to project your skills, non-tech stuff  (firstokati chestaru, resume and linkedin ayyaka 3 chestaru), linkedin makeover.  Maa area lo anni unna plan aithe $3000.

Money wise expensive eee but I am going for it.

I feel you will be at a huge advantage if you do ahead of time.

How to look for one ante - first try to understand what you need from them. Vaallu ade adugutaru. Good/bad ee answer ichina they will help but if you articulate what you want clearly they will be able to channel accordingly. Simple gaa "better job" anedi answer kaadu. What/Why anedi 5-6 times adugutaru and they want you to answer each time without repeating. This is only during the initial consult, process start avvaka mundu. Maa colleague ila uttine free consult teesukuni just checking out ani chepte - no issues, we will revisit with another free consult when you are actually ready, right now even if you pay we cant help ani vellipoyaru :)

Sorry to hear bro. I know how you feel after working for 15 years in a full time role. Hope this is a blessing in disguise for you. Just consider this break as paid time off. With GC, it will be just matter of time to land in a solid role. You should aim for higher than Sr Dev and consider management roles.

Also, consider learning cloud technologies. All the best bro.

I have seen several rounds of layoffs in my company for last several years and survived all of them. Most of the team I work in have been let go in December. I can see the writing on the wall if there is no dependency on me. Just hard to leave the comfortable position (even though less pay) after 15+ years in the same company. GC vachindhi last year so not worried about immigration issues.
