Laidoff from Indian expats

Just venting I guess...

Got the bad news this morning. How do you tell your kids about loosing job? I feel soo low, like I am letting her down, like a looser. I have 60 days to find a job. But if not, what is going to happen? We recently bought a home and filled it up with furniture. What will we do in India with no job? I should withdraw my kid from all her classes I guess?

I mean no job, no money for sometime is one thing. But suddenly killing all the dreams of kid and taking her back is completely different.

I need to pick her from school in couple hours and break the news. Feel like my heart is gonna blast.

Sounds like family doesn’t have any rainy funds saved. It’s very important for everyone to save atleast 6months worth of monthly expenses. It’s easy to say… please plan ahead. Immigration is another beast. Hope he finds new job soon.

Do you have approved i140? Then apply for ead. You will get additional 1 year to stay.

but one thing for sure is.. if kid is above 8.. its hard for relocation.. we will feel bad

Laddulo enta emotional endi ra sami, layoffs ante ade edo life ending la rastunnaru, short term lo rejection is difficult be it love or a job but long term lo good for your career as you evolve from it. I have been through couple of them one very early in my career due to an acquisition and another time as a cost cutting measure. both times got a 5-6 month pay check with 3 month medical taken care, was able to find another FT job with in 45 days or less.
