inspite of the multiple international awards his movies have gotten, he has not personally commented on the awards. He rarely even speaks about his films. and would never share what some other celebrity said about his movie like a noob.

plus remember Maniratnam studied in Bombay, and still refused to talk in Hindi while shooting all his Hindi movies.

whatever the quality of the crap movies he makes, the guy is competent at what he does.. and has some class.

Again, In my opinion, Quentin has a unique style. He picks up unique and yet controversial subjects. In addition to movies you have mentioned, his movies such as Django unchained, hateful eight etc are  legendary too. I like his style of movie making. He does not need CGI or massive star cast like Spielberg or Cameron to make a great film. He can make wonders with very limited resources. That is a hallmark of a great director. He doesn’t rely on technology or other externalities to make his movies look good. His presentation is impeccable. He uses profanity in a very tactful way. We all can admit that his story telling style is very gripping.
 

Another director who has this great skill is an Iranian director Asgar Farhadi. This guy is a mastermind too. He is a master story teller. 

I also do admire Nolan for his ideas. He tries to come up with a genius idea every time. 
 

Unlike Cameron or Spielberg these three directors can make a great movie with very limited budget and in quick time.

These three directors are my recommendations for any aspiring directors. Their movies will teach the art of story telling and importance of concept in movie making. 

disclaimer: I’m not trying to belittle or disrespect Spielberg & James Cameron.
 

I’m just stating my opinions on movie making from both business as well as quality perspective.
