Correct.. some people see homes as investment but it needs family support….
Friend of mine, bought a home few years back, appreciate ayindhi, stayed there for 2 years, bought another primary home, rented the earlier one, sold when market was high.
Bought another small home and move out of the second home to a smaller home, which will be his primary home. Last 10 years lo he changed 4 homes, he did not buy any home as investment property and moved to all homes for primary residence. Down payment he used was 5-10% only, no taxes on capital gains, claimed depreciation on home he rented...

but finding homes, making decisions and family support were struggle. He has good equity now. Family took lot of pain in building that equity and supporting him.. every 2 years ki 4 bedroom furniture moving is not a joke..

This varies individual to individual. Neku 2400 enough inkokariki 1800 enough. Valla istam unnadi kontaru le... valla kastaalu vaalle padutharu. Some people actually use almost all the rooms when they have family near by and meet every weekend or so.

sad truth that most are not following this. unsustainable prices starts from there.

i am following at least 2 out of 3 rules here.

<30% gross as emi(including property tax)

< 3x annual gross salary
