Gujarat society is clearly divided when it comes to religion. Muslims are totally alienated in the society from decades. Meat eaters are also looked down upon. Hard to get a home for rent there is you are a meat eater or a Muslim.. my uncles family has been living in Gujarat for over 4 decades now. The society there is totally different from what we see in the south. 

Also, Modi just came to power 4-5 months before this incident happened and he was new to the administration. First time mla and was never involved in any sorts of public administration before. His inexperience was also a reason why he couldn’t control it. Also Hindus were very angry with the way people were burned to death by the mob in the train.

Not lame.. that’s the reality.. if an incident occurs that rouses the emotions of all the people in an entire state or country, police cannot control the situation… our police to civilian ratio is way too small compared to any other country in this world.. there will be severe casualties before the police take control of the situation..
