వెండితెర సత్యభామ జమున ఇక లేరు.. శోక సంద్రంలో తెలుగుచిత్ర పరిశ్రమ!! తెలుగు సినీ లోకాన్ని ఉర్రూతలూగించిన సినీనటి జమున తెలుగు సినిమా ప్రపంచాన్ని శోకసంద్రంలో ముంచి వెళ్లిపోయారు. ఐదు దశాబ్దాలకు పైగా సినీ రంగంలో, వివిధ పాత్రల్లో ప్రేక్షకుల హృదయాలలో సుస్థిర స్థానాన్ని సంపాదించుకున్న గోదారి గట్టుంది.. గట్టుమీద చెట్టుంది.. చెట్టుకొమ్మన పిట్టుంది.. పిట్ట మనసులో ఏముంది అంటూ తెలుగు సినీ లోకాన్ని ఉర్రూతలూగించిన సినీనటి జమున తెలుగు సినిమా ప్రపంచాన్ని శోకసంద్రంలో ముంచి వెళ్లిపోయారు. వృద్ధాప్యం తాలూకు అనారోగ్య కారణాలతో బాధపడుతున్న సినీ నటి జమున నేడు తుది శ్వాస విడిచారు. ఐదు దశాబ్దాలకు పైగా సినీ రంగంలో, వివిధ పాత్రల్లో ప్రేక్షకుల హృదయాలలో సుస్థిర స్థానాన్ని సంపాదించుకున్న సినీ నటి జమున తన అభిమానులను, సినీ వర్గాలను కన్నీటముంచి తిరిగిరాని రోగాలకు చేరిపోయారు.

 వెండి తెర సత్యభామగా ప్రేక్షకుల మనసులలో నిలిచిపోయిన జమున నటనలో తనకంటూ ఒక ప్రత్యేకమైన ముద్రను వేసుకున్నారు. పౌరాణికమైనా, జానపదమైనా, సాంఘికమైనా తనకు ఇచ్చిన పాత్రలో ఇట్టే ఒదిగిపోయి నటించిన జమున సహజ నటి. తెలుగుసినిమా తల్లికి తన నటనతో సేవలు చేసిన జమున ఇక కనిపించని తీరాలకు వెళ్ళిపోయారు. జమున మాతృభాష తెలుగు కాకపోయినప్పటికీ తెలుగు నేలపై ఆమె ఎదిగి, సినీ పరిశ్రమలో తనకంటూ ఓ సుస్థిర స్థానాన్ని సంపాదించుకున్నారు . 1937 కర్ణాటక రాష్ట్రంలోని హంపిలో జన్మించిన జమున, కుటుంబ సభ్యులు గుంటూరు జిల్లాకు వలస వెళ్లడంతో గుంటూరు జిల్లా దుగ్గిరాలలో ఆమె బాల్యం గడిచింది.

సినిమాలలో జమున రావటానికి నాటకాలే కారణం జమున అసలు పేరు జానాబాయి. అయితే నక్షత్రాన్ని బట్టి ఏదైనా నది పేరు ఉండాలని జ్యోతి ఆమె పేరు మధ్యలో మూ అనే అక్షరాన్ని చేర్చి జమున అని పేరు పెట్టారు. చదువుకునే రోజుల్లోనే నాటకాలపై ఆకర్షితురాలైన జమున తమ కుటుంబానికి ఎంతో సన్నిహితంగా ఉన్న నటుడు జగ్గయ్య ప్రేరణతో, ప్రోత్సాహంతో నాటకాలలో అడుగుపెట్టారు. నాటకాలలో ఆమె ప్రతిపద్వారా సినిమా రంగంలో ఆమెకు అవకాశాలు వెతుక్కుంటూ వచ్చాయి. పుట్టినిల్లు సినిమా ద్వారా తెరంగేట్రం చేసిన జమున ఆ తర్వాత ఎన్టీఆర్, ఏఎన్ఆర్, జగ్గయ్య తదితరుల సరసన పలు సినిమాలలో హీరోయిన్ గా నటించారు.

తెలుగులో 150 సినిమాలకు పైగా నటించిన జమున జమున తెలుగులో 150 సినిమాలకు పైగా నటించారు. మిస్సమ్మ సినిమాతో జమునకు చాలా మంచి గుర్తింపు వచ్చింది. మిస్సమ్మ, చిరంజీవులు, తెనాలి రామకృష్ణుడు, దొంగరాముడు, బంగారు పాప, భూకైలాస్, భాగ్యరేఖ, గుండమ్మ కథ వంటి పలు చిత్రాలు జమునకు హిట్స్ సాధించిపెట్టాయి. 2008లో ఎన్టీఆర్ నేషనల్ అవార్డును 1964, 1968 లో ఉత్తమ సహాయనటిగా జమునకు ఫిలింఫేర్ అవార్డులు లభించాయి.
 

సినిమాలే కాదు... రాజకీయాల్లోనూ జమున పాత్ర శ్రీకృష్ణతులాభారంలో సత్యభామగా జమున వేసిన పాత్ర ఆమెను నేటికీ సత్యభామ గానే అందరి మనసులలో గుర్తుంచుకునేలా చేసింది. తెలుగు సినిమాలలోనే కాకుండా తమిళ, హిందీ సినిమాలలో కూడా నటించిన జమున ఇతర భాష చిత్రాలలో కూడా విజయాలను సాధించి నటిగా మంచి గుర్తింపు తెచ్చుకున్నారు. నటిగానే కాకుండా రాజకీయాలలో రాణించిన జమున 1989లో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ తరపున పోటీ చేసి రాజమండ్రి నుంచి లోక్ సభకు ఎన్నికయ్యారు. దివంగత ఇందిరా గాంధీ పట్ల అభిమానం, గౌరవంతో రాజకీయాల్లోకి ప్రవేశించి రాజకీయంగాను జమున పనిచేశారు.

11 గంటలకు ఫిల్మ్ చాంబర్ కు జమున పార్ధివ దేహం ఎప్పుడూ వివాదాలకు దూరంగా ఉండే జమున నటిగా అందరి మన్ననలు పొందారు. తన సహచర నటీనటులతో జమున కలిసి ఉన్నారు. నటిగా, రాజకీయ నాయకురాలిగా ప్రస్థానాన్ని సాగించిన జమున నేటితో తన ప్రస్తానాన్ని ముగించుకొని తెలుగు చిత్ర పరిశ్రమను కన్నీటముంచి వెళ్లిపోయారు. జమున పార్ధివ దేహాన్ని ఉదయం 11 గంటలకు పిల్మ్ చాంబర్ కు అభిమానుల సందర్శన కోసం తీసుకురానున్నారు.

Simply due to the ego and starry airs of Jamuna and her fingering nature, Sravanthi’s life has become a disaster. moral of the story is, after marriage parents’ involvement must be minimum and it applies to the parents of both the boys and girls.
