still remember...appatlo tv lo..live visuals choosa bro...very disturbing...and next few days...fukushima nuclear reactor leak too...

this event made a biggest impact on my religious believes....

What were your beliefs back in the day? And How it changed? Please share if it’s not too confidential

until 2010 i was too much religious…(literally very strict vupavaasam…pooja…pradakshina..etc)

even though i have few friends from other religions too…they were also as religious as me in their religion…

in 2010 i went to johanesburg, there i met one whites family who happen to be ex priest converted to atheist …

we had some discussions over there about religion…most of our discussions i was defender of my religion (at that time)…but some of his points are really making sense but i didn’t agree because of my religious ego…(most of our discussion about sai baba)…

later 2011 i came to india (Chennai)  and stayed in one friend house around that time tsunami happened…that friend belongs to different religion…while we were watching those live tsunami visuals i was shaken mentally …but at the time that friend showed one message like japan never respected their god so their god is punishing japan now…and he didnt show any sympathy towards what happening in japan…

first i disgusted about him…later understood  thats religion made him todo those disgusting comments even though he has helping nature (like helping my stay)…and finally realized i am also part of another religion…might have made insensitive comments one or other situations…

సాటి మనిషి భాదని అర్దం  చేసుకోవాలంటే  మనకం ఆ మనిషి మతం, కులం, ప్రాంతం ..వగైరా వగైరా ని ముందు చూసుకుంటున్నాం అని ఆ రోజు అర్దమైంది…religion taking priority than humanity…

ఆ రోజు నుంచి వాటికి దూరంగా ఉంటున్నా…

kaani okati mathram cheptha...the other extreme turn theesukuni poorthigaa naasthikudivi kooda avalsina avasaram ledu (nuvvu ayyavani anatledhu)....as long as there's a clear line between being religious (gudiki velladam/intlo pooja room lo ki poyi dandam pettukovadam etc.) vs. being fanatic (naa religion ye thopu..migatha andaru edavalu..nariki pogulu pettandi ani gundelu baadukune type)...as long we do the live and let live concept, andaru happies...just my opinion..

from that day..i give up my religious believes and practices...but at the same time i didnt stop my family...my wife goes temple...i drive her to the temple...but i dont enter inside...

my parents are regular yatra travellers...i pay their trip..

i keep my religious believes (atheistic or agnostic or panthesitc..not sure which one i am..) for myself...didnt force on my family...so same for outside of the family too...

Very interesting bro. I’m in the similar boat, atheist aa kaada ani teleyadu but respect religion. At the same time feel proud of Hinduism lol.

Chustunanta sepu mana desam lo ila aite how prepared are we ane doubt ye vundi. Help, volunteers, selfless at least in these situations vundagalama? 
ex food limited supply annaru. If I was in that situation would I let a few old people or  kids go ahead of me ?

looks like I am not alone in the boat. I feel like I am different in my own way. I only respect feelings of a human being but not god, the reason being I have my own personal pain which I am going through since my birth and it’s going to stay forever.

I believe religion is a powerful tool that controls masses. historically used by kings/politicians/dictators. depends on who uses it, it can yield good or bad. 

some they don't need it. for some it won't work. can I say that you are the former ?
