If I had that luxury to go to Skip, thats a diff story. I am not sure how skip feel about me so its a bit dicey there. so best course of action seems like suck it up and move on.  There's a fine line in being in control of employees under you vs micromanaging. I feel its the latter but who cares. it is what it is.. thanks for the advise though it helps.
