How to lead a contended life.

If this is a serious question, try to practice stoicism, taoism or Buddhism

1. practice gratitude ( write a journal every morning)

2. Daily walks or exercise (absolutely no technology)

3. Try to live a simple life ( this is easier said than done).

these 3 helped me personally

It's on your hand to decide.

If you think and compare with people who are struggling to get food, place , cloths , you are living a luxury life, comparison never stops , so just stop thinking about it.

Be thankful of what you have then peace comes within.

1. I’m grateful I’ve a job. A 6 figure salary. Nijam cheppalante 6 figure salary tho happy ga undachu if we live below our means.
2. I’m grateful my parents are alive and healthy. I’m grateful I maintain relationship with them.

3. grateful that I was born in india and had a decent childhood. We are middle class but money was not a problem. Just imagine what will happen if you are born in a country with wars. (Iraq, Afghanistan)

4. I’m grateful to have good neighbors.

5. grateful to own a house in a safe neighborhood. There are many people who live in unsafe neighborhoods.

ela raaskuntu povachu. Try to write for 1 month and see the differences. It helped me a lot.

These are silly to read. I know.

It will rewrite your brain. There is enough evidence to prove it: https://positivepsychology.com/neuroscience-of-gratitude/

Bro your thinking is right and you need to take control of your finances and future.,

Even though you and your wife are content but your kids may not be.

Life lo yeppudu yela vuntadho teliyadhu.. andhuke always thrive for exellence…my neighbor has 10+ houses we both work for same company and same salary from a decade ago! He has progressive thoughts so he started a function hall 6 years ago and he has one Dunkin’ and an Indian restaurant now

He is planning to retire from IT now( coz he got GC) but he wants to pursue law degree which is his life time ambition

Dont waste time be productive earn money and be a boss of your future … Don’t  be like other IT Slaves

the fact that you are able to breathe soon after you are awake and very existence in this world is great but we dont wake up with that sense everyday including myself, cheptey philosophical ga untadi, but there could be, there are infants stuck in earth quake debris recently and we are better off on the other side of the world ...

First , I am a passive reader of AFDB from long time , and Idhi naa first message..

second, I am connected to this post , Thanks for the post !

Brother , you are not alone , I am also in the same situation, waiting for GC , No growth , snail life .comparing lives etc ..

I think We will all go through that insecure phase when our kids grow,

that sense of insecurity is not because of our financial situation, it’s due we compare lives with other successful ppl,

I have to practice some of the above suggestions ,I don’t want to be over ambitious but want to control my mind

Read a book - Asamardhuni Jeeva yaathra

we all fight for better living and forgetting to live with what we have

bhayya..almost andaru idhe situation lo untaaru...nuvvu bayata paddavu memu lopala lopala kulling..anthe theda..migatha antha shame to shame..as others said, we should stop comparing (I know it's easy to say difficult to follow..especially with the desi mindset we'll have forever however long you have been out of the country).  Comparisons aapi konchem philosophical gaa aalochisthe (eppudo appudu andaru poyedhe...konchem atoo itoo anthe.../entha sampadinchina eee chinni pottake kadha..billionares thenedhi food ye manam thinedhi food ye...after 60 andaru rogalu vachi manchaana padalsindhe) situation does get better ... enjoy every day as if it's the last with family and friends (real ones who like you for what you are..not for your house/car/2 jobs etc.  Again, easy to preach hard to follow, I know.
