When asked by his daughter what they would do should he lose his work visa, Pavan told her not to panic.

 

"I said...let you and your mom first go back to India, let me figure out what and how the system works out, get a proper job, and then call you back," Pavan said.

 

"(She said) what, go back to India? Why should I go back to India? I've been here." Her parents believe the prospect of being ripped from her home in the US was too much for their daughter, the report added.

Please don’t get me wrong. I feel there is more to the story. A 14 years old is so smart that she can hide more than 3 weeks and police can’t track ? Things not adding up as it should be. Again i may be wrong

Teenagers running away from homes, child abductions are very common in US.. just that we desis are new to this.. there are so many orgs that help with finding out the missing kids..

Why drama? Why will someone encourage their kid to run away for GC? Family is much more important than getting a GC..

These are common discussions that happen in every immigrant home with teenage kids.. 

more so in illegal immigrant families.. parents get deported all the time in illegal immigrant families and kids grow with only one parent or no parents..

Cops are not something we expect like we see i mvovies, try registering a loss theft or accident report, edo formality ki file chestaru, I don’t think there will ever be an investigation unless it is a high priority like a homicide or in the news.

as you said this case is more on the parents than cops, fake pakodi story okkati, appudu job risk anta ippudu ledu anta? Aa risk valla ammayo pari poyindi anta, how will she earn to survive, common on. Secondly this is the second incident with the girl in the last 2 years I guess, either parents need to come clean and atop hiding what had happened, unless there is a problem she wouldn’t run away twice

When you have kids, your life revolves around your kids.. you give unconditional love to them.. more so if you have only one kid.. you wouldn’t want them to get into any trouble or danger.. this is something no one can explain but you can only experience..

She looked like a special needs kid.. maybe high functioning… they wander sometimes and lose sense of where they are going… 

Immigration issue could be real too.. Spl needs kids don’t like any change in their environment or routine.. they really hate it and take a long time to adjust to any change..  may be she couldn’t take it that they will have to leave this country.. ..
