Govt To Mint Rs 100 Silver Coin In Honour Of NTR

The Union government has decided to print a silver coin worth Rs 100 in honor of former chief minister, late N T Rama Rao.

On Wednesday, officials from the Government Mint met with NTR’s daughter and former Union Minister, Daggubati Purandheswari, in Hyderabad.

The coin will be printed to mark the birth centenary of NTR, which is being celebrated this year.

The officials have selected three photographs of the late NTR to be printed on the coin, and the process is likely to take a month or more.

Purandheswari said that she had made a request to the Union government to honor her father and former chief minister with an initiative marking his birth centenary.

She also stated that Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman took the initiative to mint a coin in honor of NTR, and she thanked the Union government and the finance minister for this effort.

It is interesting to note that it was Purandheswari who was able to get NTR’s statue installed in Parliament and now a coin in honor of her father.

However, the TDP, which has been reaping political benefits using NTR's name, has not done anything so far to honor the late leader.

Chandrababu Naidu has spoiled every effort to get national recognition for NTR all these years and still uses NTR’s name for political benefits.

It is unknown when NTR’s children will realize Chandrababu Naidu’s games and relieve their father from Naidu’s clutches.
