The man behind today's Toyota dominance

Toyota is a Great Company. But dominance??

Japanese brands are considered B-Grade vehicles (they are only for people who are middle/lower incomes groups) in UK and EU. Here only German cars are treated with esteem. Then for uber rich, we have Jaguar, Range Rover, Bentley, Aston Martin, Lambhorgini, Ferrari, Maserati....finally Bugatti and Rolls Royce.

Not sure why Americans are so obsessed with Japanese cars. Probably due to their low-cost that fits their use-and-throw attitude.

By the way,I rented 3-4 models from Toyota, they are no less than crap.

Lexus Acura Infiniti are good luxury brands

You are comparing mass and class, two separate domains

The man behind today's Toyota dominance

Shoichiro Toyoda, the former president and chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, passed away at the age of 97. He was instrumental in making Toyota a global force in the automotive industry. During his time at the helm, the company expanded its reach to become one of the world's largest and most successful automakers. Mr. Toyoda also oversaw the development of some of Toyota's most iconic models, including the Camry and the Lexus luxury brand. His legacy will continue to inspire the company's commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability.

As for the current CEO and chairman of Toyota, they are two different individuals. Akio Toyoda is the current CEO of Toyota Motor Corporation, and Takeshi Uchiyamada is the current chairman. Both individuals have been with the company for many years and have contributed to the company's success.

As for the ownership of Toyota, it is a publicly traded company, so ownership is spread among many shareholders. The Toyoda family still owns a significant portion of the company's shares, but they do not have sole ownership or control.

I had a German car, maybe the most reliable German car made in the last decade or so but maintenance is pricey even for smaller issues.

I switched to a Toyota and have zero complaints, runs smooth and the transmission is the best I have seen, it's like a ticking clock. Keeps ticking on and on, Toyota fan for life. No surprises even mechanics love Toyotas, their build quality is impeccable.

no pun intended at you, the preferences in UK does not mean anything to the world, UK is rather close to being a third world country

wait for next winter, Indias will be sending used winter clothes for letting them survive in winter

Japanese cars are very popular among middle class in US, they are known for reliability unlike junk british cars

rental cars are built different than consumer cars, dont judge a toyota by renting cars but using it for long term
