We don’t have a certified  electrician installer in our location , can I use any electrician to install the wall connector or should I just call a electrician to put a 240 volt outlet in the garage ??
what is the best option

Question ardam kaaledu. Can you be little bit more clear?

240VAC outlet wiring is same as wiring a Tesla wall charger. Outlet gives you little bit of flexibility.

Don’t have a certified electrician to put the Tesla wall charger , I thought any electrician can put 240 volt out let.
not sure if we can use any electrician to hook it up

You need a certified electrician to do any electrical work. To install Tesla wall connector you need an electrician who is obviously certified but doesn’t need to know Tesla wall connector installation or Tesla certified. It’s always best to get him to read instruction manual. It’s pretty easy. Ask him to put a 60A breaker and run a line to garage. Connect that to your wall connector. Commissioning is easy and you can do that too.

if you don’t want hassle you can just get him to do a 240 volt outlet in garage and buy Tesla mobile connector and a adapter based on plug type. Like nema adapters. Then charge using that. This option doesn’t block you to just Tesla chargers and can use for other electric cars if you move away from Tesla. Tesla wall connector gives a bit additional charging speed as it runs off 60A instead of 50A which is used in 240V installation.

Same amount of work and skill required for both outlet or Tesla charger. Need to pull 4 wires and terminate. Honestly any electrician with basic experience can do it. Depends on your comfort level anthe.

Are you sure about 60A. I thought Tesla V2 charger is only 48A.

You install 60A breaker and it gives 48A. Power consumption should be 80% of breaker size. This is to prevent fire in wires and tripping breaker. If you install Tesla connector on 50A breaker then you get only 80% which is 40A only.

I got a handyman who is electrician and got a wall charger installed for 250.

I personally felt mobile charger is better, so you can carry anywhere you want.

Just install a NEMA 5/20 - Luandry dryer plug, so you can use mobile charger.

Whole night lo you may save 1 hr with wall charger. Not big difference.

Correct.

All TESLA recommended electricians in my area are very costly, charging like 1000 buck.

Loc: South Florida
