Anta Assamey
Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is striving to win the upcoming election by any means necessary. He is determined to compete alone and regain the seat of power, no matter how many people come together against him. His efforts are focused on implementing welfare schemes and appointing individuals to government positions. It must be acknowledged that YCP has appointed more SC, ST, BC, and minority leaders to government positions than any other party. As a result, Jagan has succeeded in instilling confidence in leaders that if they remain loyal to YCP, they will always have the opportunity to obtain positions. Previously, becoming an MLC required many qualifications, including economic and caste status. However, since Jagan came to power, this has changed drastically. Individuals who previously never thought they would become an MLC are now being appointed. Party workers believe that Jagan will always reward their loyalty with good positions. The current crop of MLCs includes new faces who have no political influence, unlike former MLAs, MPs, and MLCs. By easily appointing these individuals, Jagan has instilled confidence in other leaders of YCP. While it is uncertain if the community's votes will go to YCP in the upcoming election, it is undeniable that Jagan has impressed the majority of cadre and voters of majority communities.
