Snowflake has some fans in our DB.

But why these expensive tools ba. what is wrong with apache spark or scala for compute and s3/hive for storage.

They all are free - right ?

Databricks recently crossed the Snow in the performance. 

The way snow execute the query is very well designed. I liked the SNOW very well but the cost is too much. SNOW trying to move into Visualizations and ML models which will kill their growth.

The main problem with Open source applications is maintenance. Each verion upgrade lot of dependecies vuntayi. Evaro thopu developer code super ga rsathdu. Once he left, lof of vaccum created in the project.
