Nitynananda Swamy who was accused of the kidnapping and wrongful confinement of children fled India and is back in news in the last few weeks. Nityananda claims he owns a country ‘The United States of Kailasa’ and even sent a representative Vijayapriya to the UN event. It looks like the USK also duped a city in the United states of America.

A US city Newark condemns the sister-city agreement signed with the ‘fictional nation’ of Kailasa. Newark Press Secretary Susan Garofalo said in a message that Newark scrapped a sister-city agreement with Kailasa that the fugitive godman Nithyananda’s outfit claimed was recognized by Washington.

She said, ‘Based on deception, the ceremony was groundless and void. As soon as we learned about the circumstances surrounding Kailasa, the City of Newark immediately took action and rescinded the sister-city agreement on January 18.’

Despite Newark revoking the agreement, the ‘government of Kailasa’ continues to claim and post on the website that, ‘The USA recognizes the United States of Kailasa and signs a bilateral agreement.’ The agreement with Newark was signed around January 11 at a ceremony at which Newark’s Mayor Ras Baraka and other city leaders were present.

Two members of USK made an appearance at a United Nations meeting in Geneva last month. The session of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) on sustainable development opened up for questions from the audience, one of them claims that Nithyananda was being ‘persecuted’ for her comments and then they created a false impression on social media that ‘USK’ was recognized by the UN.
