I've fought so hard to get where I am, and now it may be all taken away from me this month in the great flattening. Listen to me humble brag and my first world problems. Thanks for not being there for me.

2010: $27k, entered US for grad school (not CS)
2015: $33k, finished PhD
2016: $90k, first job my only offer. Was a SWE-2 equivalent. Wasn't too happy will do better. Moved to do ML work.
2016-2018: $90-110k, spent the next 3 years working in ML and published papers. Got promoted to Senior along the way.
2019: L63 $ 250k, got offers from Amazon and Microsoft. Failed many interviews can't leetcode well. Will do better.
2020: L64 $300k, promoted in a year, then moved to TLM/EM track
2020-2022: I spent all my COVID years doing interview prep and had no life. Prep for 40hrs/wk did 600+ LC questions with multiple repetitions per question.
2022: Promoted to L65 EM. TC $350k.
2022: M1 $750k offer. I also had offers from Google, Square, Uber, Stripe, etc. I was so happy, I finally made it to tier 1. Not just tier 1 but MULTIPLE tier 1 offers
2023: M1 $550k. Things have gone to . Not just stock price but now with the great flattening my odds of survival are 50/50. Feeling buyer remorse. Maybe should have went with one of my other offers.

** this I'm so angry. Was planning on fast M2 promo and hit $1mil TC by 2026. Had financial projections to FIRE by 2026 before I hit 40. I keep running my numbers I think best case scenario I have to work till 45 now and that's assuming I can maintain a TC >500k job.

Made it to the top despite all the odds against me, and now in under a year I'm going to lose it all. **. **!!!

2022 tc 750. Current TC 550. Its possible only if we joined before jan 20 2022. But he said he got promoted at msft in 2022 as well.

Meta stock was more than 300 in jan 2022 and now 180. So people who joined in 2021-jan 2022 lost TC because of stock depreciation. Jan ending ki 220 ki vachesindi. So feb 2022 tharuvatha join ayinavallaki tc drop emi undakoodadhu.
