Every country is different anna.. not all of them are democracies.. whatever works for a country and their people, let them have it.. China is on a path to become the worlds richest country in the world.. Chinese ppl are prospering under the current communist party rule and what else do they need.. 

even in US, we don’t have direct democracy.. you don’t elect the president directly.. US tried to force democracy on many Middle East countries and they backfired.. may be some countries are good the way they are..

Lol, dictatorship can only function if there is no freedom of press. The problem is not so much who has the power now, the problem is what he is doing to retain the power.

India lo almost anni media channels belong to BJP.. there is no criticism of the bjp govt anywhere.. does that mean we are in a dictatorship? 

Even in democracy, leaders will do everything they can to stay in power.. horse trading is very common in Indian politics… US lo lobbying antaru anthe.. you think modi will resign after his 2nd term or 3rd term to give way to a new leader? 😄

No, but people are still voting him to power. Even Indira Gandhi had absolute majority and declared emergency when people didn't want to get forced sterilizations like China. But unlike China, we were able to know about what was happening, and responded to it by voting against her. May it be Modi or his mom's husband, if you and I don't like him, we can still vote him out of power unlike China.

Even In a democracy, you can decimate the opposition by restricting them or making sure that they don’t become a formidable opposition.. Look at Turkey or Egypt.. in many democracies, there are practically no opposition parties.. 

All I am saying is that every country is different.. and whatever works for that country, they should continue following whatever works for them.. we shouldn’t say that Democracy is the best and impose it on them..
