in happy times 150k is good. what abt any health expenses or education related expenses for kids or any other emergency. what abt comfortable retirement life or fallback for layoffs?

if ur planning to stay long term in the US, 150k is nothing

insurance only until u work, after that self insurance is expensive and depends on age and preexisting conditions.

anyway the point is that it’s not about if 150k is ok for you today, but whether u have enough to weather unexpected stuff life throws at u
