CA Collision

Hi Folks,

I was traveling to SoCal last week for work, I rented a car for commute. On my way to work one day I (my rental car) was hit from the rear. Police reported to the scene and gave me a crash report, no information was given to me on whose fault it is. Any ideas in the possible outcome of this ? Please advise, just want to make sure it does not affect my driving history.

I had CDW from the rental car company.

TIA

In general, the driver of the rear-most vehicle is typically at fault in a rear-end collision.

California Vehicle state law prohibits drivers from following other vehicles too closely and hence the guy who collided is in fault
