Blame it on COVID - 100%. When you put 2 opposite personalities in one apartment for 2 years, thats what happens. Their love story is fake - most of the years she said she is in love, she was actually in  relationship with Sidharth. 
It is a marriage of convenience - they met few times in their busy schedules, probably had passionate nights , found some chemistry and thought thats enough. 

Its actually tough for the celebrities to meet new people to date - constantly every one's eyes are on you. So, you go with easiest options some times. Co-actors in the same movie are easy because you can spend time without rising lot of eye-brows.
