i was also thinking same...i was expected GOND should be somewhere in adhilabad...

Gondi women's గోండు మహిళలు

భారతదేశంలోని గిరిజనుల్లొ గోండులకు ప్రత్యేక స్థానమూ, ప్రాధాన్యతా ఉన్నాయి. మధ్యభరత దేేశంలో గోండ్వనా సామ్రాజ్యం లో 12 వ శతాబ్దం నుండి 18వ శతాబ్దం వరకు వీరి పరిపాలనా కొనసాగింది. గోండ్వనా సామ్ర్రాజ్యం చాలా పెద్దది మరిియు దక్షిణ సామ్ర్రాజ్యలకు కంచు కోటల ఉండేది. గోండులలో ప్రధానంగా మూడు రకాలున్నాయి. (1) మరియా గోండ్లు (Marias) (2) కొండ మరియలు ( Hill Marias) (3) భిషోహార్ మరియలు (Bisonhorn Marias) ప్రస్తుతం మధ్యప్రదేశ్ లోని బస్తర్ ప్రాంతమే ఈ మూడు రకాల గోండ్లకు పుట్టినిల్లు. గోండులు మహారాష్ట్ర, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రాలలో కూడా గణనీయంగా ఉన్నారు. వీళ్ళను ప్రధానంగా రాజగోండు (koitur) అంటారు. మహారాష్ట్రలోని చందాను పరిపాలించిన శక్తివంతమైన గోండురాజుల ఆస్థానం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌లోని ఆదిలాబాద్ జిల్లా వరకు వ్యాపించి ఉండేది. చత్తీస్‌ఘఢ్ లోని చాలా ఆస్థానాల్లో, 1947 వరకు కూడా గోండురాజుల పాలన వుండేది. బ్రిటిషువాళ్ళు భారతదేశాన్ని వదలి వెళ్ళిన తర్వాత గోండు సంస్థానాలన్నీ, మధ్యప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో విలీనమైపోయాయి.

హరప్ప మోహంజోదరో సింధు నాగరికత తో గోండులకు సంభంధం ఉందని పరిశోధకులు గుర్తించారు, అక్కడ నివసించింది వీళ్ళే అని అక్కడ దొరికిన అస్దిపంజరాల DNA ద్వారా గుర్తించారు. గోండుల ప్రాచీన చరిత్ర గురించిన చారిత్రిక ఆధారాలు చాలా తక్కువ. కొంతకాలం క్రితం వరకూ కూడా, ఆదిలాబాద్ జిల్లాలో రాచరికపు ఛాయలు కనిపించాయి. గోండు వీరులు, రాజులు, ఏ ప్రభువూ, బయటి రాజుకూ, జవాబుదారీ కానీ, సామంతుడు కానీ, కాదని అక్కడి గోండులు చెబుతారు. గోండులు ఆ కాలంలోనే నాగలి, ఎద్దులతో వ్యవసాయం చేసేవారు. గోండుల సామాజిక వ్యవస్థకు మూలం వారి నాలుగు గోత్రాలు (phratries) . ఇందులో మళ్ళీ ఉపగణాలు (clans) కూడా వుంటాయి. ముఖ్యంగా రాజగోండులలో వున్న నాలుగు phratries కు నాలుగు పేర్లున్నాయి.

1. ఎర్వెన్ సాగా (Yerwen saga : Seven brother phratry)
2. సెర్వెన్ సాగా (Serwen saga : Six brother phratry)
3. సివెన్ సాగా (Sewen saga : Five brother phratry)
4. నల్వెన్ సాగా ( Nalven saga : Four brother phratry)

హిందువులు ఎలాగైతే సగోత్రీకులను వివాహం చేసుకోరో, అలాగే గోండులు కూడా ఒక phratryకి చెందినవారు మరొక phratryకి చెందిన వారిని వివాహం చేసుకోరు. ఈ వ్యవస్థకు మూలపురుషుడిగా గోండులు ఒక వీరుడిని కొలుస్తారు. అతడే పెర్సపేన్ (Persapen = Great God) .

బస్తర్ ప్రాంతంలో నివసించే గోండులంతా ఒకలా ఉండరు. అబుఝమర్ కొండల్లో (Abujhamar Hills) పోడు వ్యవసాయం చేసుకొని జీవిస్తున్న కొండ మరియలు వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతుల రీత్యా, కొండ రెడ్లు లాగా, కొలాములులాగా కనిపిస్తారు. వీరు ఎక్కువగాచంద్రాపూర్ జిల్లాలోని భామ్రగఢ్ ప్రాంతంలో విస్తరించి ఉన్నారు. ఈ మధ్య కాలంలో వస్తున్న మార్పుల వల్ల, వీళ్ళు కొండప్రాంతం నుండి మైదాన ప్రాంతాల్లోకి తరలి వచ్చి, అక్కడి వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతులను నేర్చుకొని, బియ్యం పండిస్తున్నారు. భిషోహార్ మరియాలు, వ్యవసాయ పద్ధతుల్లోనే కాక, యితర ఆచార వ్యవహారాల్లో, సంప్రదాయాల్లో కూడా ఆదిలాబాద్‌లోని రాజగోండులను పోలి వుంటారు. వీరి వివాహాల్లో, ప్రత్యేకంగా ఎద్దుకొమ్ములతో తయారుచేసిన ఒక రకమైన టోపీని పెట్టుకొని నృత్యం చేసే సాంప్రదాయం వుండటం వల్లే, వీళ్ళకు (Bisonhorn Mariyas) ఆ పేరు వచ్చి వుంటుందని, మానవ పరిణామ శాస్త్రవేత్తలు వివరిస్తున్నారు. గోండులు చేసే నృత్యాన్ని గుసాడి అంటారు.

నాగలి, ఎద్దులతో దున్నుకొని వ్యవసాయం చేసిన గోండులు, క్రమంగా భూమినంతా కోల్పోయి, ప్రస్తుతం కౌలుదారులుగానో, వ్యవసాయ కూలీలుగానో బతుకుతున్నారు. ఆదివాసీ అస్థిత్వాన్ని కోల్పోయే క్రమం (Detribalization Process) గోండులలో వేగంగా జరుగుతోంది

Gond is around adilabad ,maharastra, madhya pradesh broder...   I visited all these borders places when I was  kid, all these places use to have very thing forest and these forest use to have many fruit trees , and also full teak trees .But these tribes  have been looted by Velma caste..   , they are very innocent people... but Velmas slaved them... Velmas looted all government contract programs.. they never reached them.. its all.. Dhora.. ayaa nee bachan...  Its the  life of these innocent people. These velma.. slaved them various reasons...  also Ramulama story is pretty common..

We all eat rice people but many of these people can not afford to buy rice all also in those back in 1990s.These people collect tamarind seeds and cook them like rice  to eat. They  buy cooking oil like 5 rupee oil..., 3  rupee chili powder ..  Central gorvernment has many programs but they never reach them.. but these they are making good progress with internet revolution. Villages also getting data plans ( not 4g)..  These kind of people its not just adilabad , we have similar tribes in srikakulam.  I remember  few andhra people laughed at Ramulama cinma.. but same also happened in Andhra too.. . i came to know about aadivaasi..and there struggles...while i was listening this audio book...

in this book..in every episode..there are few interviews also there by environmental and social activits and some forrest officers..etc as trivia...
