Thinking to make some extra money to pay debts. Installed Lyft driver app and background check is complete. What are the things I need to have in car like car cam etc and things I need to know.

If you are serious, see some highly rated videos on YouTube and read reddit posts . 

There are lots of strategies needed now a days to make money these days . Insurance is extra , your car should be the right kind - mileage etc . 

Some switched to Uber eats and food delivery so as to be in one area and make more money in certain areas.

Get to know the area around thoroughly, where you want to operate. Every city, even deemed safest have sketchy areas even locals avoid day n night. Better not drive after dark, more than half would be drunkards. 2 way dashcam is suggested, saves some on insurance premium. You need additional car insurance for ride share vehicle. Uber subreddit has plethora of info on this. Uber and lyft both have strict no weapon policy, though you are a citizen . Take a look at Instacart too.
