BRS holds first plenary, hopes to get 90-100 seats

Bharat Rashtra Samithi is confident of returning to power in Telangana by winning not less than 90-100 seats in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state scheduled in December, as the party celebrates its first plenary on Thursday after its transformation from Telangana Rashtra Samithi into a national party.

TRS working president K T Rama Rao said the party’s agenda, DNA and philosophy have not changed even after becoming a national party.

He said the plenary, which would be attended by 279 elected representatives, would adopt administrative resolutions and political resolutions.

KTR declared that the BRS would go to the assembly polls with party president K Chandrasekhar Rao as the chief ministerial candidate once again.

“The Congress and the BJP should also declare their Chief Minister candidates so that the people can analyse and decide,” he said, in an interaction with media.

He said there was no question of KCR giving up the CM post for others.

“He has not yet turned 70 years. That way he is still strong and capable, compared to other CMs. For that matter, the President of the United States Joe Biden is 80 and he wants to run for another term.

Why should our leader retire? He is our identity,” he said, adding that if KCR becomes CM for the third consecutive time, the entire country will take notice.
