After backlash over manifesto, Congress says there is no proposal to ban Bajrang Dal in Karnataka

Days after the Karnataka Congress said in its manifesto that on coming to power in the state it would ban organisations like the PFI and the Bajrang Dal, the party has done a U-turn. Congress leader Veerappa Moily said that anyway the state has no power to ban any organisation. He also said that only DK Shivakumar can clarify how the proposal found its way into the manifesto. Moily said there was no proposal before the Central leaders of the party. He said that as a leader, he can say that there is no proposal to ban the Bajrang Dal.
